About the Report

This report, published on October 19, 2023, is a project of the Black Media Initiative at the Newmark J-School’s Center for Community Media.

It was created by a team led by Cheryl Thompson-Morton, director of the Black Media Initiative, that included: Nicolette White, who was in charge of the data collection and data analysis. Jennifer Cheng created this website and was in charge of design and visualizations.
